Have you ever had a manicure or a pedicure? If you are a woman you probably get both on a regular basis or at least on special occasions. If you are a man you probably have never had either. If you are a real man you are probably saying “what’s a pedicure?” Just kidding about the real man part.
A few years ago my son Jay (he is our tech support here at the office) got a pedicure. He had a date with a girl that worked at a salon and she convinced him to let her work on his feet. At first he said, “No way!” (Atta boy.) But you know how convincing a woman can be…. especially when they have a pair of little scissors in their hands.
The next day Jay told me about his experience. “She soaked my feet in a little tub of soapy water. She carefully dried each foot. Separately! She rubbed my feet with some kind of lotion that made my feet softer than I can ever remember.” Jay went on and on with every detail.
I was ready for him to tell me it was embarrassing. That it was disgusting. That is was humiliating. Instead he said, “It was fabulous!”
Not only did he say it was fabulous… he suggested I get a pedicure. I told him in no uncertain terms that “I am not letting some woman I don’t even know mess around with my feet.”
As far as I know that was Jay’s last experience with a pedicure and I have yet to succumb to the foot sirens.
It is not unusual for all of us to resist new things or even resist old things that we haven’t tried. Pedicures, fried pickles and wearing a berea to work a just a few of the things that many people avoid.
If you haven’t tried commercial grade walkie talkies you may feel the same way. From experience let me tell you commercial grade walkie talkies increase safety, improve efficiency and boost productivity. Commercial grade walkie talkies are durable, reliable and easy to use.
Try a pair and see for yourself. We offer a free trial. Give us a call and we will send a pair of radios for you to try at your location for 7 days… for free! If you are having issues with the radios you are using now try ours for 7 days. Doing business with 2 Way Radio Express is easy.

My lovely Joy Ann is from Scott County Indiana. Scott County Indiana was home to the landmark Coffee Pot Restaurant. The Coffee Pot was a stucco 2 story building constructed in the shape of an old fashioned coffee pot (the kind of pot you would use to make coffee over a camp fire). The restaurant was located on a bend in the road on Highway 31 that became known as Coffee Pot Curve.
The Coffee Pot Restaurant was built in 1929 and operated as a coffee shop restaurant until 1939. After the restaurant been been closed for several years a family took up residency from 1950 till 1957. In 1960 the building was torn down to make room for a subdivision.
The cute little baby Joy Ann wasn’t born till after the enterprise had closed. In fact, Joy Ann the teenager, didn’t start driving until the Coffee Pot Restaurant had been torn down and replaced with a bunch of houses.
I met Joy Ann in the 1980’s and we visited her old home county. Traveling on Highway 31 the instructive Joy Ann directed my attention to the site of the old Coffee Pot Restaurant and informed me of the origin of the name “Coffee Pot Curve.”
I would never say it to the Princess but it seems kind of silly calling it Coffee Pot Curve today. One day the Highway Department is going to straighten the road for safety reasons….then where will we be.
All over America people refer to Bob’s desk or Kent’s truck or Sue’s office when Bob, Kent and Sue haven’t worked there in years. It is a very American thing.
We name our radios on what we believe are the most descriptive terms. We sell the ICOM Lite and the Tekk Standard for example. The ICOM Lite is manufactured by ICOM and is lightweight and compact. It is a terrific radio that is easier to carry and more comfortable to use than any other comparable radio. We think calling this same radio the F4011 does not describe the radio as well as calling it the ICOM Lite.
The Tekk Standard is a great basic radio at a very low price. Tekk makes this radio and some of their dealers sell this same radios as the “XQ700 Somethingorother” but that name doesn’t tell you much. We think the Standard is a better and more descriptive name.

I am a fan of W. Edwards Deming. Dr. Deming was trained as a mathematical physicist but became best known for his work in Japan after WWII. Dr. Deming is the father of modern management and introduced the importance of quality in every aspect of manufacturing and every other human endeavor as well.
Before Dr. Deming’s work in Japan the “made in Japan” sticker indicated that the product was probably junk. After a couple of generations of Dr. Deming’s influence Japanese goods are second to none. Hooray for Dr. Deming!
Dr. Deming taught, “long term cost savings can only come from quality products and quality services.” If anything Dr. Deming was profound. He was saying that you can’t save money long term by going on the cheap with either the products you buy or the people you choose to do business with.
There are a million places to buy walkie talkie 2 way radios. Why should someone buy from us? Quality products and quality service. Our quality service includes:

I have a blue Trek Pure Sport bicycle. It is a great bike. The big feature of this bike is its pedal forward design. On a regular bicycle the pedals are directly below the seat. On my Trek the pedals are slightly forward of the seat. Instead of pedaling up and down my feet push slightly forward. It is a much more comfortable ride. No pain.
I have owned my Trek bicycle for nearly four years. I bought the bike “used” at the Trek store. The new price was $450. I bought my for just $200 and it still looked new.
All the bicycles I have owned in my life put together didn’t cost $450. I must admit it has been worth the price. The ever exercise conscious Joy Ann was so impressed with the fun I was having she demanded her own Trek bike. They didn’t have any used lady’s bike available so the Princess got a new black Trek.
My Trek is equipped with a fancy device that provides speed, temperature, time of date, calories burned and distance traveled information.
I ride my bike to the office. It is a little over a mile to the office. I ride to the office in the morning. I ride home at lunch time. Did I mention that I prepare a nutritional noon meal for Joy Ann most everyday? After lunch it is back on the bike for the afternoon session and then back home after work.
I have been doing this for nearly four years. My bicycle’s fancy odometer is showing 9582 miles. Other than a spritz or two of oil on the chain and new tires at 4000 miles I have done zero maintenance.
Bravo to the people at Trek. Bravo to me for riding all those miles. I suppose instead of being pudgy I’d be mammoth if I had not rode all those miles.
Here’s the deal: don’t you love it when something works.
Two way radios work! Everyday we talk to customers that tell us they have been using these same radios for years and they still perform as well as when they were new. Commercial grade 2 way radios improve safety, efficiency and productivity. Commercial grade two way radios cost more than the radios you’ll find at Walmart or The Sports Authority but just like my blue Trek bicycle they will never leave you stranded.

I have a wide variety of interests including: automotive, electronics, music, natural health and of course two way radios. My mailboxes (both email and the snail mail box outside our office) are typically stuffed with advertisements that reflect my seemingly unrelated interests.
Yesterday I got a catalog that offered lotions that cure arthritis, headbands that reduce migraine pain, treatments for toe and fingernail fungus, cushions and pillows that completely alleviate back discomfort, shoe inserts to add height, tonics that grow new hair, oils that grow new hair, lotions that grow new hair, special magnets that improve the disposition and general health, creams that remove wrinkles and and on and on…
I doubt if any of these things really work or if they do work if they are as effective as the advertisements proclaim. In spite of my lack of belief there is an entertainment value to these ads. It is akin to the medicine shows of days gone by. I don’t know if this stuff will grow hair but it sure is fun to drink.
For years I have been making the claim that radios pay for themselves in 6 weeks or less. Is the claim true or false? It’s true! It’s true! Two way radios do pay for themselves in 6 weeks or less. Here’s how.
If your workers are making $10 an hour and 2 way radio save an hour a day in ‘walking around trying to find Henry’ then 2 way radios will save $50 per week. Believe me and everyone else that regularly uses 2 way radios: your productivity and efficiency improvements will be greater than 1 hour a day. Fifty bucks a week for 6 weeks is $300. Our average commercial grade two way radio sells for less than $300. Bingo! Two way radios pay for themselves in 6 weeks or less.
Two way radios are better than Dr. Wilson’s Memory Elixir and Hair Tonic.

Do you use a weather alert radio? Weather alert radios turn on automatically in emergency weather conditions. NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) operates weather radio station all over the USA with the purpose of protecting life and property.
NOAA weather stations broadcast on VHF frequencies. VHF is the best frequency band for this application if you are broadcasting with sufficient power from a tower.
Most schools and businesses use UHF 2 way radios. UHF is the best frequency band for broadcasting inside building and in dense areas.
Recently a customer called to ask if he could use his hand held radios to receive NOAA weather alerts. Since they use UHF 2 way radios at their plant and UHF radios do not receive VHF signals my first answer was “no.” However after chewing on the problem a little we came up with a solution.
Introducing the Weather Announcer. The Weather Announcer receives VHF weather alert broadcasts from NOAA and re-broadcasts them on the same UHF frequencies you use at your school or business. The only time the Weather Announcer interrupts regular radio traffic at your site is when there is a weather alert.
We can program the Weather Announcer to work with your specific radios. The Weather Announcer sells for $599.
The Weather Announcer is an important consideration for every school’s and business’s emergency plan.

Do you live near a tunnel? I use to live in Louisville, Kentucky and drove through the Cherokee Park Tunnel everyday on the way to work. Tunnels are cool but don’t try to listen to the radio while you are in the tunnel. No signal! AM or FM no signal. Fortunately the Cherokee Park Tunnel isn’t very long so unless traffic stops while you are in the tunnel you will only miss a few beats of a song.
Dead zones like the Cherokee Park tunnel or any area where radio signals are block due to obstacles or obstructions can be a problem. Basements are a typical radio dead zone. Hospitals have dead zones where specialized equipment or lead lined walls prevent radio signal penetration. Caves, mines and valleys are also radio dead zones.
Do you have dead zones in your 2 way radio environment? Here are two solutions that can help. The first solution is inexpensive and can be very effective. A passive antenna acts as a conduit for radio signals. A passive antenna is actually two antennas connected by a coaxial cable. One antenna is mounted in the area where there is no signal. The other antenna is mounted at the closest place where there is a signal (usually just a few feet away). This works great when there is a single room or a specific area that is not receiving radio signals.
The second solution is a low wattage repeater. Low wattage repeaters act as a booster for radio signals. One side of the repeater receives the weak signal and the other side rebroadcast the signal at a greater strength. A radiating cable can be connected to the repeater in order to “radiate signal” along a path. For example a radiating cable can be used in an underground mine to provide 2 way radio coverage in areas that would normally be dead zones.
Passive antennas typically cost about $200. Repeaters start at $1200.

It is tax season in the USA. People are filing their taxes and either getting a little money back or having to send more money to Washington, DC.
I hope you are but I am never one of those people who gets money back. It seems I always have to pay more.
H&R Block is a very popular tax preparation company that operates over 11,000 retail tax offices in the USA. Henry W. Bloch and his brother Richard Bloch founded the company in 1955. I guess they thought there was magic in spelling their name B-L-O-C-K instead of the original B-L-O-C-H spelling.
In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s H&R Block had television advertisements featuring Henry Block. Henry was shown behind a desk sharing the 13 reasons to use H&R Block to prepare your taxes. I don’t remember any of the reasons but I do remember there were 13. Each advertisement featured a different one of the 13 reasons. As time marched on and the filing deadline got closer the reasons for using H& Block didn’t become any more or less compelling. The fundamental need to file before the deadline was the driver and the 13 reasons were justifications for choosing H&R Block.
I use H&R Block. My kids use H&R Block. My Dad uses H&R Block. Some years I have filed using online tax preparation services and some years I have used software that I picked up at Office Depot to prepare my tax forms but I prefer to meet mano-a-mano with a H&R Block trained preparer.
We have been selling 2 way radios for several years. We could put together a list of 13 reasons why you should buy 2 way radios from us. Heck I can think of hundreds of reasons why we would like you to buy 2 way radios from us.
More important is the reason for using 2 way radios at your school or business. The list of specific reasons to use 2 way radios could fill pages. But the compelling and fundamental reasons for using 2 way radio are:
2 way radios increase safety
2 way radios boost efficiency
2 way radios improve productivity
