2 Way Radio Reason #458

December 14th, 2011

Hi Friend,

Generally speaking 2 way radios improve safety, boost efficiency and increase productivity. However every application is a little different. Even though it is still ‘push to talk’ and ‘release to listen’ two way radios are used differently in a factory than in a dentist office or some other place.

At social events, church or just on the street it is not unusual for someone to ask, “What do you do for a living.” Of course I excitedly reply, “We sell two way radios.”

“Who buys two way radios?” they ask. At this point I launch into, “Schools, businesses and government agencies rely on 2 Way Radio Express for the best value in 2 way radios. We sell 2 way radios to doctor and dentist offices.”

“Whoa,” they say. “Why do dentists need 2 way radios?”

This is my cue to say, “Two way radios are ideal for busy dental offices and clinics. Two way radios provide immediate communications. Push the button and talk to everyone or just one staff member. Two way radio communication can expedite the flow of people and information through a dental facility. Small and lightweight modern 2 way radios aren’t much bigger than a cell phone. There are no monthly fees. Audio accessories provide maximum privacy and prevent anyone from eavesdropping. Some models both talk and text.”

By this time I have usually lost my audience. “Too much two way,” as we sometimes say.

Intrinsically Safe Radios

December 13th, 2011

Hi Friend,

When electricity is discharged across a gap it is said to “spark”. Depending on the distance or gap sparking can be visible or may be so small as to be undetectable.

Visible or undetectable the spark can ignite anything in its path that is flammable. The more flammable the greater chance that a spark can ignite the material.

Sparking can occur with most any electrical device and even through a static electric discharge.

This spark can be very dangerous in areas of high flammability. Places where there are open containers of petroleum products or silos with flammable dust from agricultural products are particularly vulnerable.

Fortunately some 2 way radios are certified to not spark. These radios are called ‘Intrinsically Safe’ because they are built to not spark regardless of the circumstances.

Intrinsically Safe radios cost more than regular 2 way radios but guarantee safe operation in areas where there is a risk of explosion, ignition or fire.

Intrinsically Safe radios are certified by Factory Mutual Global to not spark. Factory Mutual Global is an industrial property insurance and risk management organization specializing in property protection. Factory Mutual Global establishes the criteria for certification and insures against the loss if there is a mishap.

Call 2 Way Radio Express for more information on Intrinsically Safe radios. Doing business with us is not only easy…. its safe.

Reason #457

December 12th, 2011

Hi friend,

My wife is the coordinator of education for the Philharmonic Center here in town. This is a very busy time of year for her.

Her department is responsible for recruiting and training young people to perform in several Christmas events. Some of these events are youth choral performances and others are larger performances that feature the youth choral.

The Philharmonic Center campus has entrances and exits on all sides and there are roadways on all four sides as well. My wife has the responsibility for the logistics of moving nearly 100 kids on to and off of the stage. Additionally she makes sure all the kids get picked up after the concert.

After a concert there are children and parents and patrons coming and going in all directions. It isn’t my cup of tea but my wife is a master at this sort of thing.

One of the ways she is able to execute these events flawlessly is by using 2 way radios. She has a perfect record of no kids lost, no kids damaged and no kids who have spent the night in a drafty theatrical house because their parents couldn’t find them.

She uses 2 way radios to communicate backstage during performances and with parking attendants after the show. Guess who provides the radios? Dut Dut Daaa! 2 Way Radio Express is the official provider of radios to my wife.

And this is reason #457 to only buy radios from 2 Way Radio Express.

Best Wishes

A Little Help From Our Friends

December 9th, 2011

Hi, Friend

A colleague of mine from some years ago signed his email and letters, Your Radio Friend.

At first I thought, Your Radio Friend, was an odd expression. I have come full circle. I now believe friend accurately describes the relationship we have with our customers.

Because we are in sunny Naples, Florida and our customers are in all 50 states we usually do not meet customers face to face. Most of our relationships are on the phone, through the internet, fax or by email. We can only speculate what our customers look like in person.

Fortunately most of our customers do business with us several times a year. Over time we become friends with our customers. We like to say, “Doing business with us is easy.” We think being a good business vendor and partner is the best way to become friends.

We recently added a “How Did We Do?” page to our website. We need your help. Please visit the How Did We Do? page and tell us how we did.

We are always looking for ways to improve our service to you and thereby deepen our friendship.

I hope you have a terrific Christmas and the best New Year ever.

Best Wishes,

2 Way Radio Holsters and Cases

November 21st, 2011

Two way radio holsters and cases are available made of leather or nylon. Holsters hold the radio while it is not in use. Usually radio holsters attach to the users belt or waist band with a belt clip or belt loop. The advantage to a holster is it protects the radio when not being used and provides easy access when you need the radio.

A 2 way radio case also attaches to the users belt or waist band with a belt clip or loop but unlike the holster the case stays on the radio when in use.

Holsters or cases can add years of life to you radio equipment.

Typically a leather case for a 2 way radio sells for about $40. The nylon cases sell for $30 depending on the make and model radio.

We also sell cases for the Grasshopper and Micro radios for $20.

For a limited time we are offering buy 5 and get the 6th case for free. Doing business with 2 Way Radio Express is easy.

Is it too early for Christmas?

October 18th, 2011

Hi, Friend

It seems to me it is way early but here is a Christmas gift giving suggestion: 2 way radios! There I said it. I’m usually the one that thinks advertisers jump the gun on holidays but the truth is Christmas is just a little over 60 days away.

We sell a radio called the Grasshopper. The Grasshopper is sold in pairs, comes complete with radio, belt clip, batteries and charger. The Grasshopper sells for $159 a pair and has some unique features.

The Grasshopper can talk and text. The Grasshopper is not as durable as a commercial grade radio but can probably withstand more abuse than a cell phone.

We have sold hundreds (if not thousands) of Grasshoppers to schools all over America. Schools love them because they are inexpensive and they work.

Think of the future astronauts or engineers in your family messing around with Grasshoppers. What could be more fun. Grasshoppers are great for instant communication from the garage or tree fort to the house. Grasshoppers are great for camping or vacations. To learn more about the Grasshopper visit us at www.2wayradioexpress or give us a call at 239-601-1969.

Do the right thing and order Grasshoppers for your loved ones today.

Meet the New Micro

October 10th, 2011

We have just received our first shipment of the new and improved Quantun Micro radios. The new Quantun Micro has more power, a better battery, more durability, louder volume and better sound quality.

The new Quantun Micro is only 4.3″ tall, 1.97″ wide, 1.18″ deep and weighs less than 5 ounces.

The new Quantun Micro can be programmed to work with your existing radios. The Micro uses a standard two pin audio connector so it is easy to use almost any audio earpiece or accessory.

These are great little radios and sell for just $149. If you bought the old Micro you’ll love the improvements in the new Micro.

Here’s a special offer:  if you have old Quantun Micros and would like to trade up to the new model, we will apply half of your original purchase price towards the purchase of new Quantun Micros. If you don’t have old Micros we will take any old radio and give you $25 towards the purchase of new Micros. This is a one for one deal and is for a limited time.

The new Micro is not for every application but if you need radios at your school, retail business or medical office the Micro is a great choice.

Give us a call if you’d like to try the new Quantun Micro. Doing business with us is easy.

Best Wishes,

Introducing the Swivel

September 19th, 2011

Earpieces with lapel mics are a popular 2 way radio accessory. The earpiece lets the radio user hear better in loud environments and also prevents others from over hearing radio transmissions in less noisy areas.

Earpieces let you talk and listen while leaving your radio attached safely to your belt. Because you don’t have to take off and put on your radio all day there is less chance of dropping or losing equipment. Earpieces really pay for themselves by extending the life of your radios.

Earpieces are used in restaurants, schools, retail stores, dental offices and anywhere privacy is important. Earpieces are also used at factories, entertainment venues, construction sites and anywhere sound quality and overcoming surrounding noise is an issue.

Most earpieces have a microphone that attaches to the user’s shirt collar or lapel. The microphone is about half the size of your little finger (this supposes that everyone has about the same size little finger). Generally these microphones are sensitive to the user’s voice but tend not to pick up surrounding noise.

Earpieces either fit just outside the ear canal or as in the case of a surveillance earpiece  actually are worn in the ear canal. The surveillance style are least conspicuous but also the least comfortable.

The ear hook and D ring style earpieces that are worn outside the ear canal are the most popular and most comfortable.

Now there is a new earpiece. Introducing the “swivel”. The swivel is the most comfortable and offers excellence sound quality for privacy and for use in loud environments. The swivel is available to fit most 2 way radios and sells for about $35. Because the swivel earpiece is made from hard plastic it can be wiped clean and sanitized when employees share radio equipment.

You can see an image of the swivel and most other earpieces on our website at  2 Way Radio Earpieces.

Give us a call if you’d like to try the new swivel earpieces. Doing business with us is easy.

The Phil

September 12th, 2011

My wife, Joy Ann, works at the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. It is known as The Phil. Joy Ann is the education coordinator. The Phil is a gorgeous facility with a grand lobby and magnificent marble halls.

On Sunday The Phil presented  “In Remembrance: A Concert to Honor the Victims of the 9/11 Attacks. My Joy Ann handles logistics at events like this when the youth chorus is involved. The youth chorus was an integral part of the presentation and Joy Ann was right in the middle moving children on and off stage. Additionally she is responsible for logistics outside the building as children are coming and going.

Guess who Joy Ann asked to provide 2 way radios for the event. That’s right: 2 Way Radio Express is the official provider of 2 way radios to Joy Ann.

For this particular event we sent a pair of Tekk X100 to The Phil. Joy Ann reported, “The radios were fabulous! They made our job so much easier.”

I guess I don’t have to tell you that 2 way radios are easier to use and more efficient than cell phones or any other communication device. With 2 way radios you just push the button and talk.

Man I love radios.

Best Wishes,

Manzie R Lawfer
